How to promote your Discord server with Join4Join

Run a promotion campaign that works: get coins, choose between bot and invite mode, target by language and account quality, read your analytics and keep the members you reach.

A good Discord server can stay empty for months simply because nobody knows it exists. Promotion on Join4Join fixes the “nobody knows” part: your server is shown to real Discord users who are browsing the platform to discover new communities, and the ones who like what they see join.

This guide covers everything about running a campaign in 2026: getting coins, choosing a mode, targeting, reading your analytics, and the habits that make people stay.

Before you start: get your server ready

A campaign sends people to your door. What they find decides whether they stay, so spend ten minutes on this first:

  • Name and icon. They are what people see in the list. Make the topic obvious.
  • A welcome channel. Two or three lines: what the server is about, where to start, the main rules.
  • Onboarding and roles. Discord’s onboarding lets new members pick their interests and see only the relevant channels.
  • Some life. A few recent messages in the main channels make a huge difference. Launch when you or your moderators can greet newcomers.

Step 1: Get coins

Campaigns are paid in coins, the virtual currency of Join4Join. There are two ways to get them.

Earn them for free. Discover servers on Earn (0.75 coins per server), run Auto-Farm, claim your daily reward and invite friends. We explain every source in How to promote your Discord server for free.

Or get a pack on the Coins page if you want to go faster:

PackCoinsPriceGood for
Starter2505 EURTest the waters with a first campaign.
Growth50010 EURThe sweet spot for growing servers.
Boost100020 EURKeep a campaign running for weeks.
Scale250050 EURFor established communities.

The rate is 50 coins for 1 EUR (card payments are billed in USD at the same rate). You can pay by card through PayPal or with crypto, and the coins are delivered instantly. Coins are only used to promote servers on Join4Join: they have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.

Step 2: Create your campaign

Open Promote. The page lists the servers you are a member of, with the state of their campaign. Pick a server and set the budget:

  • 1 coin = 1 member reached. Your budget sets the size of the campaign, which runs until the budget is used or until you stop it.
  • The minimum is 3 coins, so you can test with a tiny budget.
  • One campaign per server runs at a time. You can refill it whenever you want.

Step 3: Choose bot mode or invite mode

This is the most important choice, and it depends on your server.

Bot mode (fastest)

You add the Join4Join bot to your server. When someone clicks Join on your server in the list, the bot adds them directly: no invite to open, no extra step, so more of the people interested actually end up in your server.

The bot does not stay forever: when the campaign ends, it leaves your server automatically. The Join4Join bot has a limited number of server slots. When it is full, the Promote page tells you so and you can use invite mode instead.

Invite mode (no bot needed)

You paste a permanent invite link: no expiration date and unlimited uses. People join through the link and the join is verified. Choose this mode if you prefer not to add a bot, or if the bot is full.

Invite links are checked regularly. If yours stops working (deleted, expired, pointing to another server), the campaign pauses until you give a new one. You never spend coins on a dead link.

Step 4: Target the right audience

Two optional filters help you reach the people most likely to stay:

  • Alt-account filter. Excludes accounts that look like secondary accounts, based on signals like account age, avatar, profile and security settings.
  • Language filter. Only shows your server to users whose Discord language is English, French or Turkish.

Filters narrow your audience, so each one costs 22% of the delivered members. For example, 100 coins reach 78 members with one filter, and 60 with both. Use the language filter when your community only speaks one language, and the alt filter when activity matters more than volume.

You can edit the filters while the campaign runs.

Step 5: Follow your analytics

Once the campaign is live, its page updates in real time:

  • Progress: how many members have joined and how many are left.
  • Joins per day: a chart of the daily pace.
  • Retention: how many of the people who joined are still in your server. This is the number to watch.

From the same page you can refill the campaign, edit the filters, or stop it at any time. When you stop, the undelivered part is refunded to your balance, including the filter cost of the members not delivered yet.

Members who join through Join4Join have to stay at least 4 days, or they lose coins. If one of them leaves earlier anyway, you get 0.5 coins back for that member.

Best practices for retention

The members you reach are real people who can leave whenever they want. The servers that keep them have a few things in common:

  1. Start small, then scale. Run a first campaign, look at the retention chart, fix what needs fixing, then refill.
  2. Greet people. A welcome message with a mention, a bot that assigns roles, a moderator saying hello: small signals that someone is there.
  3. Give them something to do right away. An introduction channel, a question of the day, an event this week.
  4. Keep the channel list short. Twenty empty channels look like a dead server. Five busy ones look alive.
  5. Do not spam. No mass pings, no DMs to new members, no “invite 5 friends to unlock the server”. People leave fast when they feel used.
  6. Match your targeting to your community. A French-speaking server gets far better retention with the French language filter.

FAQ

How fast will my campaign run?

It depends on the mode and on how many users are browsing at that moment. Bot mode is usually the fastest because joining takes a single click. You can follow the pace live on the joins per day chart.

Will everyone stay in my server?

No, and no honest platform can promise that. People are free to leave. The 4-day rule and the refund for early leaves protect you, and the retention chart tells you how your server is doing.

Can I stop a campaign?

Yes, at any time from the campaign page. The undelivered part is refunded instantly to your balance.

Do I have to buy coins?

No. Every feature works with coins earned for free. Packs only save time.
